Christmas Spirit 2020

Throughout the pandemic, we have seen many our young people being creative at home. Whether it be a heart-warming ‘Thank you NHS’ message or a rainbow picture in their window, they have all lifted the spirits in some way with their artistic displays.~ So, as we look to lighten up the dark nights across our borough this Christmas, we are asking them to be creative once more as we launch our ‘Window Wonderland’ competition to keep everyone smiling over the holiday season.

The competition is easy to enter, all you have to do is send in a picture of your festive window display at home with your name to Oldham Council via social media and you will be entered into a prize draw with one lucky winner set to receive a festive hamper worth £50.~ The display could have some magical lights, a wonderful display of festive drawings or even a bit of tinsel and some left-over decorations – whatever it is, it just must be festive.~ We even have printable colouring-in sheets on our website that people can print off and stick on their windows.

Now given that most of your young people will not have social media, it would be great if we could get this message out to their parents so they can enter on their behalf.~ The deadline to enter is midnight on Sunday 20 December 2020, with the winner being announced the following day.~ For more information on our competition, please visit www.oldham.gov.uk/ChristmasinOldham
